hi, i'm sara sweeney. thanks for popping by my site - i'm in transition.
i'm in pursuit of becoming a certified financial planner so that i can help people like my parents navigate big life changes (such as retirement or longterm care), and folks like my friends lead financially fruitful lives.
as a day-time tax clerk for my local county government, i interact with community members every day who face the sensitive, emotional work of wealth management (or lack thereof). as an only-daughter to two chronically ill parents, i'm facing questions about the future that most of my peers haven't encountered yet.
right now, i'm inspired by the work of atul gawande (being mortal), tori dunlap (@herfirst100k), and the incredible confidence i've gained by utilizing the budget software You Need A Budget.
i envision becoming a certified financial planner so that i can be the financial advisor i need right now- one who breaks open hearts, holds space for fear, and ignites clarity. one that works best in the blended, suspended space of wealth, mortality, health, and faith. one who begs the questions to 27 and 72 year-olds alike: if time were short, what is most important to you? (atul gawande) and what do you want your legacy to be?
as i transition into wherever this tickling inclination is taking me, please stand by & be patient. i really think great things are coming!
what you'll find on this site right now regards my 8+ years of private tutoring and writing consultancy, which i grew as a lucrative "side-hustle" on my winding path toward financial independence.
i still offer case-by-case collaborative writing work, so if you're looking financially accessible and high-quality direction on a resume, essay, or writing product, email me at writewithsara@gmail.com or hit up my connect page. for that, i work on a pay-what-you-can hourly rate. if you're looking for an ongoing private academic tutor, you can find me and my areas of expertise on the tutoring platform Wyzant.com.
i donate my time as a pro-bono grant writer for organizations and small businesses that align with my values of responsibility, interconnectedness, indulgence, and liberation. causes i stand behind fight for the dismantling of white supremacy. i collaborate with institutions that uplift the financial freedom and economic justice of human beings regardless of (but not without regard to) age, sexual orientation, race, gender, ability, economic background, faith, or language. if you know or work for an institution that is in search of development and fundraising forces, drop a line to my direct email writewithsara@gmail.com
i so look forward to where this inspiration is leading me, and hope to be a financial rock for folks out in the world asap. faithfully and financially, sara
